Alternative Name Caspase-6 (CASP6 Antibody Abstract)
Background Caspases play a major role in the transduction of the apoptotic signal and execution of apoptosis in mammalian cells. Caspase 3 (CPP32) and Caspase 6 (Mch2) are the major active caspases in apoptotic cells, and are activated in response to distinct apoptosis-inducing stimuli and in all cell lines analyzed. Both CPP32 and Mch2 are present in apoptotic cells as multiple active species. Caspase-6 cleaves nuclear mitotic apparatus protein (NuMA) and mediates the shrinkage and fragmentation of nuclei.Synonyms: Apoptotic protease Mch-2, CASP-6, CASP6, MCH-2, MCH2
Gene ID 839
NCBI Accession NP_001217
UniProt P55212
Research Area Apoptosis/Necrosis
Pathways Apoptosis, Caspase Cascade in Apoptosis
Application Notes Immunoprecipitation (Denaturated): use Protein G and 20 l antibody/mg protein lysate. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin embedded sections: 1: 50-1: 100 in an ABC method, incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. Formalin fixed paraffin embeddedtissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Western Blot (1: 100). Positive Control: Tonsil.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
