Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human PARP.
Specificity This antibody reacts with a 116 kDa protein, known as PARP.
Cellular Localization: Nuclear.
Purification Purified
Alternative Name PARP1 (PARP1 Antibody Abstract)
Background Proteolysis of PARP to its stable 85 kD fragment is an early marker of apoptosis and is mediated by Caspase (CPP32) protein. PARP uses nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (oxidized form) as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to a variety of nuclear acceptors.Synonyms: ADPRT, ADPRT 1, NAD(+) ADP-ribosyltransferase 1, PARP-1, PPOL, Poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 1, Poly[ADP-ribose] synthetase 1
Gene ID 142
NCBI Accession NP_001609
UniProt P09874
Pathways Apoptosis, Caspase Cascade in Apoptosis, DNA Damage Repair, Production of Molecular Mediator of Immune Response, Maintenance of Protein Location
Application Notes Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Embedded Sections: Use at 1/25-1/50 dilution in anABC method for 30 minutes at room temperature. High temperature treatment offormalin-fixed tissue sections with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 must be performed prior tothe immunostaining. Recommended Positive Control: Tonsil.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Storage 4 °C
Storage Comment Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8 °C.
