Additional Information

Alternative name VEGFR-1 / Flt-1
UniProt P17948
Immunogen A synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of the Flt-1 precursor of human origin
Cross-Reactivity Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
Description VEGF Receptor 1 (also known as FLT) belongs to the src gene family and shows tyrosineprotein kinase activity that is important for the control of cell proliferation anddifferentiation. The protein acts as a receptor for VEGF, VEGFB and PGF. An alternativelyspliced form of the gene produces a soluble protein (sFlt1) which binds vascularendothelial growth factor (VEGF) with high affinity. sFlt1 has a higher affinity for VEGFindicating that it may function as an inhibitor in the VEGF response. VEGF Receptor 1 isspecifically expressed in most vascular endothelial cells and peripheral blood monocytes. Flt-1 is a cell membrane receptor kinase. Flk-1 has a high affinity receptor for vascularendothelial growth factor and is putatively involved in the growth of endothelial cells andangiogenesis.
Characteristics Synonyms: VEGFR1, FLT1, FLT, FRT, VEGF Receptor 1, Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1,Vascular permeability factor receptor, Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor FLT,Tyrosine-protein kinase FRT, Fms-like tyrosine kinase 1

Application Details

Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on Formalin-Fixed Paraffin Embedded Tissues: Use a dilution of1/50-1/100 in an ABC method (incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature). Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigenunmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, prior to immunostaining. Recommended Positive Control: Angiosarcoma. Also useful for Western blotting. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Purification Purified
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C. Shelf life: One year from despatch.
Research Area Cytokines, Receptors
Restrictions For Research Use only
