  • Application Notes
Neutralisation: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50]of the biological activity of hKGF(25 ng/mL), a concentration of 0.56-0.85 μg/mL of this antibody has been used for previouslots. ELISA: To detect hKGF by direct ELISA (using 100 l/well antibody solution) a concentrationof at least 0.5g/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, inconjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/wellof recombinant hKGF. Western blot: To detect hKGF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at aconcentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagentsthe detection limit for recombinant hKGF is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing ornon-reducing conditions.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background
KGF is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein is a potent epithelial cell specific growth factor, whose mitogenic activity is predominantly exhibited in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts and endothelial cells. Studies of mouse and rat homologs of this gene implicated roles in morphogenesis of epithelium, reepithelialization of wounds, hair development and early lung organogenesis.Synonyms: Fibroblast growth factor 7, HBGF7, Heparin-binding growth factor 7, Keratinocyte growth factor
