Immunogen D-Amino Acid Oxidase [Pig Kidney].
Description This gene encodes the peroxisomal enzyme D amino acid oxidase. The enzyme is aflavoprotein which uses flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as its prosthetic group. Itssubstrates include a wide variety of D amino acids, but it is inactive on the naturallyoccurring L amino acids. Its biological function is not known, it has been suggested that itis involved in acid base balance in the kidney or it could act as a detoxifying agent whichremoves D-amino acids accumulated during aging, or it may be a fossil enzyme without acurrent function.
Specificity This product is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by amulti-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchangechromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-SheepSerum as well as purified and partially purified D-Amino Acid Oxidase [Pig Kidney]. Cross reactivity against D-Amino Acid Oxidase from other tissues and species may occur

Application Details

Application Notes Suitable for Immunoblotting (Western or Dot blot), ELISA, Immunoprecipitation,Conjugation and most immunological methods requiring high titer and specificity. Recommended Dilutions: This product has been assayed against 1.0 ug of D-Amino AcidOxidase [Pig Kidney] in a standard sandwich ELISA using Peroxidase conjugated AffinityPurified anti-Sheep IgG [H&L] (Goat) and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes atroom temperature. A working dilution of 1: 20,000 to 1: 60,000 of the reconstitutionconcentration is suggested for this product. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 10.0 mg/ml (by UV absorbance at 280 nm)
Buffer 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2 with 0.01%sodium azide as preservative.Reconstitution: Restore with 5.0 ml of deionized water (or equivalent).
Storage Store vial at 2-8°C prior to restoration. Centrifuge product if not completely clear afterstanding at room temperature. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°Cor below. This product is stable for one month at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Shelf life: One year from despatch.
