Immunogen: Catalase from Bovine liver.

Description: Catalase is the classical marker for peroxisomes and is the most abundant protein withinperoxisomes. It is found in almost all aerobically respiring organisms and serves to protectcells from the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide.

Specificity: This product is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by amulti-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchangechromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by Immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-RabbitSerum as well as purified and partially purified Catalase [Bovine liver]. Cross reactivity against Catalase from other tissues and species may occur but have notbeen specifically determined. Species: Bovine. Others not tested.

Application Details

Application Notes: Suitable for Western Blot (1/10,000-1/50,000), ELISA (1/20,000), Immunoprecipitation,Conjugation and most immunological methods requiring high titer and specificity. Recommended Dilutions: This product has been assayed against 1.0 µg of Catalase [Bovineliver] in a standard sandwich ELISA using Peroxidase conjugated Affinity Purifiedanti-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (Goat) (R1364HRP) and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes at RT. Aworking dilution of 1/30,000-1/150,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggestedfor this product. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Concentration: 10.0 mg/ml (by UV absorbance at 280 nm)

Buffer: 0.01M Sodium Phosphate, 0.14M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.4 containing nopreservative.Reconstitution: Restore with 5.0 ml of deionized water (or equivalent).

Storage: Store vial at 2-8°C prior to restoration. Centrifuge product if not completely clear afterstanding at room temperature. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°Cor below. This product is stable for one month at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Shelf life: One year from despatch.
