Additional Information

Characteristics Synonyms: Glucose oxyhydrase, Beta-D-glucose: oxygen 1-oxido-reductase, gox
Alternative name Glucose Oxidase
Swiss-Prot P13006
Immunogen Glucose Oxidase [A. niger]
Description Glucose Oxidase is widely used for the determination of glucose in body fluids and inremoving residual glucose or oxygen from foods and beverages. Glucose Oxidaseproducing moulds such as Aspergillus and Penicillium species are used for the biologicalproduction of gluconic acid. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Beta D glucose + O2 = D glucono 1,5 lactone + H2O2.
Specificity Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin,anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glucose Oxidase [A. niger]. Cross reactivity against Glucose Oxidase from other sources may occur but have not beenspecifically determined.

Application Details

Application Notes Immunoblotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunomicroscopy as well as otherantibody based assays using streptavidin or avidin conjugates requiring lot-to-lotconsistency. This product has been assayed against 1.0 g of Glucose Oxidase in a standard captureELISA using Peroxidase Conjugated Streptavidin and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes atroom temperature. A working dilution of 1: 50,000 to 1: 250,000 of the reconstitutionconcentration is suggested for this product. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 10.0 mg/ml (by UV absorbance at 280 nm )
Buffer 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2, with 0.01%sodium azide as preservative and 10 mg/ml Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA, IgG and Proteasefree) as stabilizerLabel: Biotinamidocaproate N-Hydroxysuccinimide Ester (BAC) Molar Ratio: 10-20 B
Storage Store vial at 2-8° C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water or equivalent, centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This productis stable for several weeks at 2-8°C as an undiluted liquid. For extended storage mix product with glycerol to 50% and then aliquot contents andfreezeat -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
