Glucose Oxidase [A. niger]
Description
Glucose Oxidase is widely used for the determination of glucose in body fluids and inremoving residual glucose or oxygen from foods and beverages. Glucose Oxidaseproducing moulds such as Aspergillus and Penicillium species are used for the biologicalproduction of gluconic acid. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Beta D glucose + O2 = D glucono 1,5 lactone + H2O2.
Specificity
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin,anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glucose Oxidase [A. niger]. Cross reactivity against Glucose Oxidase from other sources may occur but have not beenspecifically determined.
Application Notes
Immunoblotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunomicroscopy as well as otherantibody based assays using streptavidin or avidin conjugates requiring lot-to-lotconsistency. This product has been assayed against 1.0 g of Glucose Oxidase in a standard captureELISA using Peroxidase Conjugated Streptavidin and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) as a substrate for 30 minutes atroom temperature. A working dilution of 1: 50,000 to 1: 250,000 of the reconstitutionconcentration is suggested for this product. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
