Immunogen Synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of the Human oestrogen receptor beta 1 isoform. Spleen cells from immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse SP2/0 myeloma cell line.
Sequence CEDSKSKEGS QNPQSQ
Clone PPG5-10
Isotype IgG2a
Specificity This antibody recognises the Estrogen Receptor beta 1 isoform. The antibody has been used for the Immunohistochemical study of the expression of this isoform, showing positive nuclear staining in cells within the ovary, uterus, oviduct, breast, testis, prostate, bladder and male reproductive ducts.
Purification Supernatant
Alternative Name Estrogen Receptor beta
Background Estrogen Receptor beta is a recent discovery, initially cloned and characterized from testis. Estrogen Receptor beta is highly homologous to Estrogen Receptor alpha, the ligand and DNA binding domains are highly conserved, while the amino terminus (transactivation domain), has diverged significantly. Estrogen Receptor beta binds estrogen with high affinity and regulates estrogen specific gene activation through direct interaction with estrogen response elements (EREs).Synonyms: ER-beta, ESR2, ESTRB, NR3A2, Nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group A member 2
Gene ID 2100
NCBI Accession NP_001035365
UniProt Q92731
Research Area Cancer, Endocrine system, Transcription Factors, Hormones, Receptors
Application Notes Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: 1/5 - 1/50, this product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Recommended Positive Control: Ovary.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
