Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 116-131 of the C-terminus of a synuclein
Purification Serum
Alternative Name alpha-Synuclein / SNCA (SNCA Antibody Abstract)
Background The alpha-synuclein gene, located on chromosome 4, has been linked to early onset autosomal dominant Parkinsons disease. The protein is abundant in the nervous system, and is known to be the precursor of the non-beta amyloid component protein (NACP) of Alzheimers disease. Alpha-synuclein has also been found to be associated with other neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple system atrophy and dementia with Lewys bodies.Synonyms: NACP, Non-A beta component of AD amyloid, Non-A4 component of amyloid precursor, PARK1
UniProt P37840
Research Area Neurology
Pathways Synaptic Membrane, Regulation of G-Protein Coupled Receptor Protein Signaling, Positive Regulation of Endopeptidase Activity, Regulation of Carbohydrate Metabolic Process, Platelet-derived growth Factor Receptor Signaling, Negative Regulation of Transporter Activity, Regulation of long-term Neuronal Synaptic Plasticity
Application Notes ELISA: 1/1000 vs immunising peptide. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: 1/300, this product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections, this product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Recommended Positive Control: Brain, Spinal Cord.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
