Description

Alternate Names: 8OHG.
Specificity
ABIN121590 recognises 8-hydroxyguanosine (8-OG), a modified base which occurs in DNA as a result of oxidative stress. 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) has become a sensitive marker of oxidative damage in cellular DNA and has been reported to be excreted in the urine. Levels of 8-OHdG have been shown to increase on exposure to ionizing radiation and tobacco smoke. ABIN121590 cross reacts completely with 8-OHdG. This antibody does not cross react with other naturally occuring nucleotides.
