    Background
Endonuclease G is a mitochondrion-specific nuclease that translocates to the nucleus and cleaves chromatin DNA during apoptosis. endoG is reported to act independently of caspases and may represent a caspase independent apoptotic pathway initiated from the mitochondria.Synonyms: ENDOG
