Additional Information
| Characteristics | Synonyms: S100-A1, S100A, S100 alpha, S100 calcium-binding protein A1, S-100 protein subunitalpha, S-100 protein alpha chain |
| Alternative name | S100A1 (S100A/B) |
| Gene ID | 528735 |
| Swiss-Prot | P02639 |
| Immunogen | Bovine brain S-100 |
| Description | Among tumours of the human central and peripheral nervous systems, schwannomas, ependymomas and astrogliomas of different stages, including glioblastomas showpositive reactions. S100 can be detected in almost all benign naevi and malignantmelanocytic tumours of the skin, and in Langerhans cells in the skin. |
| Specificity | This antibody reacts with S-100 A and S-100 B. This protein is present in brain glial cells and in ependymal cells. This antibody also stains Schwann cells of the peripheral nervous system. Species: Bovine, Human, Mouse and Rat. Others not tested. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections: 1/10-1/40. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 1/10-1/40. This product does not require protein digestion pretreatment of paraffin sections. Thisproduct does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffinsections. Recommended Positive Control: Brain, skin or Human melanoma. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
| Buffer | PBS, pH 7.4 containing 0.09% Sodium Azide as preservative and 1% BSA asstabilizer. |
| Storage | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
