Additional Information
| Alternative name | CD193 / CCR3 |
| Swiss-Prot | P51677 |
| Immunogen | Synthetic peptide corresponding to a 14 amino acid sequence located near human CD193 carboxy-terminus |
| Description | CD193 acts as a receptor for several CC chemokines including monocyte chemoattractant proteins (MCP) -1, -2, -3 and -4, MIP-1 a , MIP-1ß, and RANTES. The eotaxin subgroup of CC chemokines act as specific agonists for CD193, and this interaction has become a focus area for studies into the infection of microglia by HIV (2) and also allergy research (3). Alternate Names: CCR3. |
| Specificity | This antibody recognises human CD193, otherwise known as CC chemokine receptor 3 (CCR3), a seven-helix transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor which, along with CCR5 and CXCR4, acts as a principal receptor for the fusion and entry of HIV into target cells. CD193 is expressed by eosinophils, basophils, mast cells, microglia, Th2 helper cells and some epithelial cells. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (10 ug/ml). Western blot (1 ug/ml, detects a band of approximately 55 kDa in human spleen cell lysates, predicted Mwt. 41 kDa). Use human spleen as positive control. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. |
| Concentration | 0.5 mg/ml |
| Buffer | Phosphate buffered saline, containing 0.02 % Sodium Azide (NaN3) |
| Storage | Store the antibody at 2 - 8 °C up to one month or (in aliquots, undiluted) at -20 °C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: one year from despatch. |
