Additional Information

Swiss-Prot Q05397
Immunogen Synthetic phosphopeptide derived from the region in human FAK that contains phosphorylated tyrosine 910
Description Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase discovered as a substrate for Src and as a key element of integrin signaling. FAK plays a central role in cell spreading, differentiation, migration, cell death and acceleration of the G1 to S phase transition of the cell cycle. The phosphorylation site pTyr397 is the autophosphorylation site of FAK. The site binds Src family SH2 and the p85 subunit of phosphatidyl inositol-3 kinase (PI3-K).
Specificity This antibody detects focal adhesion kinase (FAK) from human, mouse, chicken and frog tissues and cells.

Application Details

Application Notes Western blot: 1/500, detects an ~125 kDa protein representing FAK from platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) treated NIH-3T3 cell extract. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Buffer PBS, pH 7.4.
Storage Store the antibody at -80°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf Life: one year from despatch.
