Immunogen Synthetic peptides of human PUMAa (NT)
Purification Protein G Chromatography
Alternative Name PUMA
Background A novel p53 inducible pro-apoptotic gene was identified recently and designated PUMA (for p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis) in human and mouse. The PUMA gene encodes two BH3 domain-containing proteins termed PUMA-a and PUMA-b. PUMA proteins bind Bcl-2, localize to the mitochondria, and induce cytochrome c release and apoptosis in response to p53. PUMA may be a direct mediator of p53-induced apoptosis.
UniProt Q9BXH1
Research Area Cancer, Apoptosis/Necrosis, Metabolism
Application Notes IHC: 10 ug/ml. Western blots (0.5 - 1.0 ug/ml). Recommended Positive Control: Western blot: 3T3 cells, K562 cells. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
