Background TRF4-1 is a nuclear protein whose expression is cell cycle-regulated at a post-transcriptional level. Two genes, TRF4-1 and TRF4-2, belonging to this family have been identified. TRF4 is also required to maintain a different aspect of higher order chromosome structure, sister chromatid cohesion.
