Immunogen A mixture of KLH-conjugated synthetic peptides corresponding to aa 201-218 and 301-317 of human XAF1 AA Sequence:NQTSTMEKDVRPKTRSIN / QLDLEKERYYKFKRFHF
Purification Protein G Chromatography.
Alternative Name XAF1
Background The inhibitors of apoptosis (IAP) proteins prevent cell death both in vitro and in vivo by virtue of inhibition of distinct caspases. The X-linked Inhibitor of Apoptosis, XIAP, is a key member of the IAP family of proteins. The caspase inhibiting activity of XIAP is negatively regulated by at least two XIAP-interacting proteins, XIAP-associated factor 1 (XAF1) and Smac/DIABLO. XAF1 binds to XIAP and antagonizes caspase inhibitory activities of XIAP. Expression of XAF1 triggers a redistribution of XIAP from the cytosol to the nucleus. XAF1 is ubiquitously expressed in normal tissues, but is present at low or undetectable levels in many different cancer cell lines.
UniProt Q6GPH4
Application Notes Western blot: 1.0 - 2.0 ug/ml. Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1/100. Recommended positive control: human liver (a 34 kDa band should be observed). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
