Description A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) direct the activity of protein kinase A (PKA) by tetheringthe enzyme near its physiologic substrates. AKAP3 belongs to the AKAP110 family. Expression is testis specific, and is only expressed in spermatids. It is thought to functionas a regulator of both motility- and head-associated functions such as capacitation andthe acrosome reaction in sperm.
Specificity This antibody is specific for AKAP3/SOB1. Species: Human. Others not tested.

Application Notes ELISA: >1: 32000. Western Blot: 1-3 ug/ml. Recommended positive control: human testes. An ~90 kDa band is observed in humantestes lysates (calculated MW of 95 kDa according to NP_006413). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
