Specificity
This antibody is specific to a 56 kD protein, which is identified as cytokeratin 6. Cytokeratin 6 and 16 are expressed in keratinocytes undergoing hyper proliferation. Cytokeratin is found in hair follicles, suprabasal cells of a variety of internal stratified epithelia. Cytokeratin 6 is strongly expressed in about 75% of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

Application Notes
Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Positive Control: Skin. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic
