Additional Information
| Alternative name | CD8 |
| Immunogen | Synthetic peptide sequence comprising the 13 C-terminal amino acids of the cytoplasmic domain of alpha chain of the CD8 molecule. |
| Format | Supernatant |
| Isotype | IgG (Matching secondary antibodies) |
| Clone | SP16 |
| Specificity | This antibody recognizes CD8. CD8 molecule consists of two chains, termed alpha and Beta chain, which are expressed as a disulphide-linked alpha/Beta heterdimer or as an alpha/alpha homodimer on T cell subset, thymocytes and NK cells. The majority of CD8+ T cells express CD8 as alpha/Beta heterdimer. CD8 functions as a coreceptor in concert with TCR for binding the MHC class I/peptide complex. The HIV-2 envelope glycoprotein binds CD8 alpha chain (but not Beta chain). This antibody crossreacts with Human. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:100 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Positive Control: Tonsil. Cellular localization: Cell membrane |
| Concentration | 100ug/ml approximately |
| Buffer | This antibody is supplied as tissue culture supernatant containing sodium azide as preservative. |
| Storage | Store the antibody at 2-8o c. Do not use it beyond the expiration date stated on the label. |
| Research Area | CD Antigens |
| Restrictions | For Research Use. CE-certified for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Use in the European Union |
