This antibody reacts with a 80 kD protein known as Ku (p80). Ku autoantigen is a heterodimer of p70 kD (p70) and 80 kD (p80) proteins. The p70/p80 dimer is important for the function of a 460 kD DNA-dependant protein kinas that phosphorylates certain transcription factors, including sp1, Oct-1, p53 and SV40 large T antigen in vitro. Ku protein plays a role in cell signaling, proliferation, DNA repair, replication, transcriptional activation and apoptosis. This antibody cross reacts with monkey but does not cross react with cow, rabbit and mouse.

Application Notes
|
Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:50-1:100 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the end user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Positive Control: Tonsil. Cellular localization: Nuclear Other Applications: Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence, Western Blotting
