Additional Information

Alternative name S-100 Protein
Immunogen BALB/C mice were immunized with purified bovine brain S-100 protein
Format Purified
Isotype IgG2a  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone 4C4-9
Specificity This antibody stains with S-100 protein. S-100 belongs to the family of calcium binding proteins such as calmodulin and troponin C. S-100A and S-100B proteins are two members of the S-100 family. S-100A is composed of an alpha and beta chain whereas S-100B is composed of two beta chains. This antibody stains Schwannomas, ependymomas, astrogliomas, almost all benign and malignant melanomas and their metastases. This antibody crossreacts with human, cow, mouse and rat.

Application Details

Application Notes Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:50-1:100 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Suitable for formalin fixed tissues. No treatment is required. Positive Control: Melanoma. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic
Concentration 100ug/ml approximately
Buffer This antibody is supplied as purified ascites containing sodium azide as preservative.
Storage Store the antibody at 2-8o c. Do not use it beyond the expiration date stated on the label.
