Specificity Insulin is a hormone secreted by the beta cells of the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas. Insulin is a 51 amino acid polypeptide composed of A and B chains connected through the C-peptide. Insulin promotes glycogen storage, formation of triglycerides and synthesis of protein and nucleic acids. Cross reaction has been observed with insulin containing cells in fixed sections of pancreas from human, cow, pig, rabbit and rat.

Application Details

Application Notes Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:50-1:100 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Suitable for formalin/paraffin tissues. No pretreatment is required for paraffin sections. Positive Control: Pancreas. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic
