| Specificity | This antibody reacts with a 52 kD protein (unglycosylated) and 57 kD (glycosylated) species of pro form of MMP-1 as well as 42 kD (unglycosylated) and 47 kD (glycosylated) active form of MMP-1. Matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) are a family of closely related zinc-containing proteolytic enzymes, capable of degrading connective tissue components. MMP-1 appears to be associated with facilitating the tumor spread and invasion of esophageal and colorectal cancers and is associated with poor prognosis. Interstitial collagenase (MMP-1), 73 kD gelatinase A/type IV collagenase (MMP-2) and 92 kD gelatinase B/type IV collagenase (MMP-9) dissolve extracellular matrix and may initiate and promote angiogenesis. |

| Application Notes | Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation conditions should be determined by the user.
