Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2)
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from the N-terminal half of human TIMP-2 protein.

Specificity
This antibody reacts with a 21kD protein. The tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) are natural inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and are thought to be of great importance in the maintenance of connective tissue integrity. TIMP-2 shows the highest binding affinity to both the latent and active forms of Type IV collagenase (MMP-2). TIMP-2 inhibits the proteolytic invasiveness of tumor cells and normal placental trophoblast cells.

Application Notes
Titer/Working Dilution: This antibody may be diluted to a titer of 1:25-1:50 in an ABC method. However, depending on the staining conditions employed, we suggest that final dilution should be determined by the user. Staining Protocol: We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation conditions should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining. Positive Control: Colon carcinoma. Cellular localization: Cytoplasmic
