Description
CD52 (CAMPATH-1, HE5) is a highly glycosylated GPI-anchored 21-28 kDa glycopeptidewhich is present at high levels on lymphocytes, macrophages, epithelial cells of malereproductive tract and mature sperm. Its 12-amino acid beckbone carries a complexN-linked carbohydrate moiety, which differs between sperm and leukocyte CD52, as well asthe GPI anchor does. CD52 can be acquired by sperm cells from seminal plasma, where itis released by epithelial cells. Although CD52 is not an essential T-cell costimulator, itstriggering results in activation of normal human T cells. CD52 is a very good target forantibody/complement-mediated cell lysis.

Specificity
The antibody HI186 reacts with CD52 (CAMPATH-1), a 21-28 kDa glycoprotein containing alarge N-linked carbohydrate moiety, mature CD52 molecule is actually much smaller(approx. 8-9 kDa). CD52 is expressed at high levels on lymphocytes,monocytes/macrophages and in male reproductive tract.HLDA VI, WS Code BP 523HLDA VI, WS Code T 6T-057

Application Notes
The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis of human blood cells using 20 µl reagent / 100 µl of whole blood or 10 6 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (2 ml) is sufficient for 100 tests.
Buffer
The reagent is provided in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azideand 0.2% (w/v) high-grade protease free Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a stabilizing agent.
Storage
Store in the dark at 2-8 o C. Do not freeze. Avoid prolonged exposure to light. Do not use after expiration date stamped on vial label.Short-term exposure to room temperature should not affect the quality of the reagent. However, if reagent is stored under any conditions other than those specified, the conditions must be verified by the user.
