Additional Information

Alternative name Cytokeratin 7
UniProt P08729
Immunogen Synthetic peptide (C-SAGPGLLKAYSIRT) of human keratin K7 (formerly also designatedcytokeratin 7), coupled to KLH.
Cross-Reactivity Human
Description Cytokeratin 7 is a 54kD intermediate filament protein found in a variety ofglandularepithelia. Cytokeratin 7 has been found in columnar and glandular epithelium ofthe lung, cervix, breast, bile ducts and larger collecting ducts of the kidney. It is present inthe transitional epithelium of bladder as well as ovarian and lungepithelia, andoccasionally staining of blood vessel cell walls, particularly endothelial cells, may beobserved. However, Cytokeratin 7 is not expressed by epithelial cells of thegastrointestinal tract, colon or prostate. Keratin 7 is often co expressed with keratin 19.
Characteristics Synonyms: KRT7, KRT-7, SCL, CK-7, CK7, Keratin-7, K7, K-7, Sarcolectin, Keratin type II cytoskeletal 7

Application Details

Application Notes Western blotting: 1: 3000 (ECL). Immunohistochemistry on frozen (1: 200) and paraffin-embedded (1/100) sections (aftermicrowave treatment). Cytological material. Incubation time: 1 h at RT, extended with paraffin sections. Positive control: Glandular epithelia (e. g. sweat glands, sebaceous glands), Merkel cells. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
