Immunogen Synthetic peptide of human acidic hair (trichocytic) keratin K38 (formerly also designated keratin hHa8, TTC GPT CGA STT GSR F), coupled to KLH.
Specificity The antiserum stains specifically human hair keratin K38 expressed starting from the middle cortex. The staining in the middle cortex appears highly heterogeneous.
Purification Serum
Alternative Name Keratin-38 (KRT38)
Background Alternate names: HHA8, HKA8, Hair keratin, K38, KRT38, KRTHA8, Keratin, Keratin 38, Keratin-38, Keratin38, type I Ha8, type I cuticular Ha8
Gene ID 8687
NCBI Accession NP_006762.3
UniProt O76015
Application Notes Immunoblotting: 1 : 2,000, ECL method. Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections: 1: 200, 1h at RT. NOTE: For enhancement of cortex staining preincubate fixed sections with 0.1 Triton X-100(in PBS) for 1 - 5 min prior to first antibody incubation step. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
