UniProt P08247
Immunogen Synaptophysin from presynaptic vesicles, prepared from bovine brain
Cross-Reactivity Cow (Bovine), Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
Isotype IgG1
Clone SY38
Description Synaptophysin is a glycoprotein present in the membrane of neuronal presynaptic vesiclesin brain, spinal cord, retina, vesicles of adrenal medulla, neuromuscular junctions, andendocrine cells. It is also expressed by neuroendocrine cells throughout the body, bothnormal and neoplastic. Synaptophysin is a useful marker for the identification of normalneuroendocrine cells and neuroendocrine neoplasms. This antibody reacts withneuroendocrine cells of human adrenal medulla, carotid body, skin, pituitary gland, thyroid, lung, pancreas, and gastointestinal mucosa. It also reacts with a wide spectrum ofneuroendocrine neoplasms of neural type including neuroblastomas, ganglioneuroblastomas, ganglioneuromas, pheochromocytomas, chromaffin, and nonchromaffin paragangliomas.
Characteristics Synonyms: Neuroendocrine Marker, Major synaptic vesicle protein p38

Application Details

Application Notes Immunofluorescence Microscopy. Suitable for Frozen tissue and Cytological Material. In no case protease pre-treatment. Dilute at least 1/10 with PBS, pH 7.4 for Immunofluorescence Microscopy. Incubation time: 1 h at RT. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration 0.5 mg/ml
Storage Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. This product is photosensitive and should be protected from light. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
