Description
PBR (Peripheral-type Benzodiazepine Receptor) is a ubiquitous protein (18 kDa) found inmost steroidogenic tissues. It is located primarily in the outer mitochondrial membrane ofsteroid-producing tissues and is found in association with a 34 kDa voltage-dependentanion channel protein (VDAC). PBR is involved in the regulation of cholesterol transportfrom the outer to the inner mitochondrial membrane. It is thought to be part of themitochondrial permeability transition pore (PT) and to be involved in apoptosis.
Specificity
This antibody detects PBR. Species: Human, Mouse and Rat. Others not tested. Add. Information: Blocking peptide (ABIN126990) is available separately.

Application Notes
Western Blot: 0.5-4 µg/ml. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen and Paraffin Sections: 10-20 µg/ml. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
