Immunogen
This protein A purified monoclonal antibody was produced by repeated immunizations with humanthyroglobulin protein. Hybridoma: Produced by the fusion between BALB/c mouse splenocytes and mouse myeloma SP2/0 cells afterimmunization with thyroglobulin from human thyroid gland using conventional hybridoma technology.

Description
Thyroglobulin (Tg) is synthesized by the follicular epithelial cells of the thyroid andsecreted from the thyroid gland with the stimulation of TSH and/or thyroid stimulating immunoglobulins.Thyroglobulin is a prognostic marker for Graves` disease. Thyroglobulin antibody has been useful in the positiveidentification of thyroid carcinomas of the papillary and follicular types.
Specificity
This protein A purified mouse monoclonal antibody reacts specifically with thyroglobulin inhuman tissues. The antibody recognizes a 330-kDa band corresponding to thyroglobulin. Cross reactivity withthyroglobulin from mouse, rat and dog will occur. Cross reactivity with thyroglobulin from other sources has notbeen determined.

Application Notes
Recommended Dilutions: Generally a 1:50 to 1:200 dilution is suitable for most applications. A 30 to 60 minuteincubation time is usually sufficient. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining systememployed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Both frozen sections and formalin fixed, paraffin. Note: This antibody is suitable for the detection of thyroglobulin in ELISA,immunohistochemistry, immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation. For immunohistochemistry, both frozen sectionsand formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections can be used without epitope retrieval or enzyme digestion. This antibody is specific for the 330 kDa thyroglobulin protein. Thyroglobulin shows a cytoplasmic localization.Thyroid tissue can be used as a positive control.
