Description
Extracellular stimuli such as growth factors and UV irradiation stimulate phosphorylation of c-Jun at Ser63/73 and activate c-Jun dependent transcription. Mutation at Ser63/73 renders c-Jun non-responsive to mitogenic and stress induced signaling pathways. JNK (c-jun N-terminal Kinase) binds to the N-terminal region of c-Jun and phosphorylates c-Jun at Ser63/73. The activity of JNK is stimulated by the same signals that activate c-Jun.
Specificity
Recognizes c-Jun in samples of human, mouse, and rat origin. The antibody only recognizes c-Jun, and will not detect the endogenous levels of Jun B or Jun D.
Application Notes
The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (1 µg/ml) and immunohistochemistry (20-40 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.

Buffer
Supplied as 100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-c-Jun polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
