Additional Information

Alternative name p120ctn
Immunogen This antibody was purified from hybridoma (clone 6H11) supernatant using protein-A Sepharose. This hybridoma was established by fusion of mouse myeloma cell Ag8.653 with A/J mouse splenocyte immunized with the purified 6xHis-fusion to N-terminal end of p120(amino acids 3-349 of p120 ctn type 1A) protein.
Format Liquid
Isotype IgG1  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone 6H11
Description P120 ctn (formerly p120 cas or pp120) is a cytoplasmic protein that is a member of the catenin family. Originally identified as a Src-tyrosine kinase substrate, the cadherin-binding p120 ctn is associated with cell-cell adhesion via catenin/cadherin complexes in adherence junctions. p120 ctn affects cell motility via modulation of activity of Rho-family GTPases, including RhoA, Rac and Cdc42, suggesting a mechanism for regulating the balance between adhesive and motile cellular phenotypes. Due to alternative splicing and multiple translation initiation codons, several p120 ctn isoforms can be expressed from a single gene. All p120 ctn isoforms share a central Armadillo repeat domain but have divergent N- and C-termini.
Specificity This antibody reacts with human, mouse and rat p120 ctn N-terminal epitope.
