Additional Information

Alternative name Desmoglein 2
Immunogen This antibody was purified from hybridoma (clone 6D8) supernatant using protein-A Sepharose. This hybridoma was established by fusion of mouse myeloma cell P3/NS1/1-Ag4-1 with Balb/c mouse splenocyte immunized with cell membranes from A431 cells.
Isotype IgG1  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Clone 6D8
Description Epithelial cell-cell junctions serve to link the cadherin to actin microfilaments or the intermediate filament cytoskeleton and are important for tissue integrity. Desmosomes are one of the main adhesive junctions in epithelial tissues. Two members of the cadherin family of proteins, desmogleins and desmocolins that are linked to intermediate filament cytoskeleton through interactions with .-catenin, desmoplakin and plakophilin family of proteins. In the skin, the three desmogleins (desmoglein-1, -2 and -3) are expressed in a stratification dependent manner, and therefore contribute to compositionally different desmosomes throughout the differentiating layers.
Specificity This antibody reacts with human Desmoglein 2.
