Alternative Name Nibrin
Background The p95 gene (identical to NBS1 and nibrin) is a member of the hMre11/hRad50 double-strand break complex. This protein complex has been implicated in Nijmegen breakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder marked by increased cancer incidence, cell cycle checkpoint deficits, and ionizing radiation sensitivity, thus revealing a direct molecular link between double-strand break repair and cell cycle checkpoint functions.
Application Notes By Western blot, this antibody recognizes a band at 95 kDa representing hp95 in TK6 or other human cells. By immunofluorescence, this antibody has been used with methanol-fixed IMR90 primary human fibroblasts. Immunoprecipitation tests have been done with 3-4 X 106 cells. Suggested working dilutions: * Western Blot-1:1,000-1:10,000 (~95 kDa band, representing hp95) Immunofluorescence: 1:200 (used with methanol-fixed IMR90 primary human fibroblasts) Immunoprecipitation: 3 ul for 3 x 10-6 cells or 1-4 ug/mg lysate. *The investigator should determine the optimal working dilution for a specific application. Other applications have not been tested.
