Description: This is a progestin-induced protein, which belongs to the HECT (homology to E6-AP carboxyl terminus) family. The HECT family proteins function as E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases, targeting specific proteins for ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis. This gene is localized to chromosome 8q22, a locus disrupted in a variety of cancers. This gene potentially has a role in regulation of cell proliferation or differentiation.

Application Notes: ELISA: peptide ELISA (antibody detection limit dilution >1 / 32000). WB: Approx. 35-40 kDa band observed in Human Testis, Human Muscle, A549 and A431 lysates at 0.5-1ug of primary. Please note that the band we observe is different from the predicted size of approx. 322 kDa according to NP_056986 (furthermore, our SDS PAGE/western blotting protocol is not optimized for detection of proteins as large as the predicted). Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
