Additional Information

Alternative name RAD51
Gene ID 5888
Immunogen Fusion protein encoding full length (amino acids 1-338) of Rad51 expressed in E. coli.
Cross-Reactivity Human
Isotype IgG2b
Clone 14B4
Description Rad51, a 37kDa protein, is the human homolog of E. coli RecA protein and a member ofthe RAD52 epistasis group in S. cerevisiae. In recent studies it has been reported thatBRCA1 interacts with Rad51 and disease-causing mutations have been found in theBRCA1 region necessary for BRCA1/Rad51 interaction, implying that this interaction isimportant for tumor suppression. BRCA2 and Rad51 have also been shown to interactby direct binding of the BRC repeats located within exon 11 of BRCA2. When theserepeats are deleted, the interaction is lost and cells become hypersensitive to the DNAdamage caused by methyl methanesulfonate (MMS). Alternate Names: anti-DNA repair protein RAD51 homolog 1 antibody, anti-E coli RecA homolog antibody,anti-HGNC:9817 antibody, anti-Homolog of E coli RecA antibody, anti-homolog of Scerevisiae RAD51 antibody, anti-HRAD51 antibody, anti-HsRad51 antibody,anti-HsT16930 antibody, anti-RAD51 S cerevisiae homolog antibody, anti-RAD51Aantibody, anti-RECA antibody, anti-RecA like protein antibody, anti-recombinationprotein A antibody.
Specificity This antibody is specific for Rad51. Species Reactivity: ABIN151080 reacts with human Rad51.
