Description
|
FEN-1 (Flap Endonuclease and Five prime Exonuclease) is a 42 kDa protein thatfunctions as an endonuclease that cleaves branched DNA structures containingsingle-stranded 5' flaps or as an exonuclease on DNA nicks and gaps. FEN-1endonuclease and exonuclease activities are stimulated by an association withproliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in the nucleus. FEN-1 is believed to haveimportant roles in DNA replication and repair and is required in cell-free DNA replicationsystems. Alternate Names: anti-Flap endonuclease 1 antibody, anti-flap structure specific endonuclease 1 antibody,anti-Maturation factor 1 antibody, anti-MF1 antibody, anti-RAD2 (S. pombe) homologantibody, anti- fen-1 antibody.
