Background WFS1 is a novel component of Wolfram syndrome, a rare form of juvenile diabetes. WFS1 plays an important role in maintaining homeostasis of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) in the pancreas. It is normally up-regulated during insulin secretion, whereasinactivation of the protein can cause ER stress. Chronic ER stress is a majorinvolvement in Wolfram syndrome. Application Notes This WFS1 antibody is useful for Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry-Frozen, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. In WB bands are observed at ~100 kDa and ~200 kDa representing the monomer and dimer forms of WFS1.
