Additional Information

Alternative name Wolframin / WFS1
Gene ID 7466, 83725
UniProt O76024
Immunogen A 110 amino acid region of the N-terminal region of thehuman protein.
Format Serum
Description WFS1 is a novel component of Wolfram syndrome, a rare form of juvenile diabetes. WFS1 plays an important role in maintaining homeostasis of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) in the pancreas. It is normally up-regulated during insulin secretion, whereasinactivation of the protein can cause ER stress. Chronic ER stress is a majorinvolvement in Wolfram syndrome. Alternate Names: anti-Wolfram antibody, anti-wolfram syndrome 1 antibody. Related Diseases: Diabetes, Wolfram Syndrome, Neurodegenerative Disease
Specificity Species Reactivity: ABIN151416 can be used to detect human, rat and mouse WFS1 protein. Localization: Endoplasmic reticulum.

Application Details

Application Notes Suggested working dilutions: immunofluorescence 1:200,immunoprecipitation 2 ul,Western Blot 1:500-1:2000,Immunohistochemistry-Frozen 1:1000. Positive Controls: See notes.
Buffer 0.1 ml of whole antisera containing 0.1% sodium azide.
Storage Aliquot and store at -20C or -80C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
