Immunogen Immunogen for this antibody was a phosphorylated synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human Breast Cancer Gene 1 (GeneID 672) around serine 1457 according to the numbering given in entry NP_009225.1.
Purification affinity purified
Alternative Name BRCA1 / RNF53
Background BRCA 1 contains at least two nuclear localization signals and is proposed to be a tumorsuppressor protein. It is a serine phosphoprotein that undergoes hyperphosphorylationduring late G1 and S phases of the cell cycle and is transiently dephosphorylated earlyafter M phase. BRCA 1 protein alters in a qualitative and quantitative manner during cellcycle progression. The amount of BRCA protein is highest during S phase and remainselevated toward G2 / M, before it declines in early G1 phase. Inherited loss of BRCA 1function confers an increased susceptibility for both breast and ovarian cancer. Alternate Names: anti-Breast Cancer 1 antibody, anti-Breast cancer 1 early onset antibody, anti-Breastcancer type 1 susceptibility protein antibody, anti-Breast Ovarian Cancer Susceptibilityantibody, anti-Papillary serous carcinoma of the peritoneum antibody, anti-PSCPantibody, anti-RNF53 antibody.
Gene Symbol: BRCA1
Gene ID 672
NCBI Accession NP_009225.1
Application Notes Suggested working dilutions: * Western Blot 1:1,000-1:10,000 Immunocytochemistry ND Immunohistochemistry ND *The investigator should determine the optimal dilution for a specific application. This antibody can be used for Western Blot.
Recommended dilutions: Western Blot 1:1000-1:10000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Buffer Tris-citrate/Phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
