Immunogen A synthetic peptide, which represented a portion of human Nijimegen breakage syndrome 1 between amino acid residues 625 and 675 encoded in part by exons 12 and 13 (LocusLink ID 4683).
Purification affinity purified
Alternative Name Nibrin
Background The p95 gene (identical to NBS1 and nibrin) is a member of the hMre11/hRad50double-strand break complex. This protein complex has been implicated in Nijmegenbreakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder marked by increased cancerincidence, cell cycle checkpoint deficits, and ionizing radiation sensitivity, thus revealinga direct molecular link between double-strand break repair and cell cycle checkpointfunctions. Alternate Names: anti-AT V1 antibody, anti-AT V2 antibody,anti- ATV antibody, anti-Cell cycle regulatoryprotein p95 antibody, anti-FLJ10155 antibody, anti-MGC87362 antibody,anti- NBNantibody, anti-NBS 1 antibody, anti-NBS antibody, anti-NBS1 antibody, anti-Nibrinantibody, anti-Nijmegen breakage syndrome antibody, anti-Nijmegen breakagesyndrome protein 1 antibody,anti- p95 antibody.
Gene Symbol: NBN
Gene ID 4683
Application Notes Recommended dilutions: Immunoprecipitation 1-4 µg/mg of lysate, Western Blot 1:1000-1:10000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Liquid
Concentration 1.0 mg/mL
Buffer Tris-citrate/Phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Do not freeze.
Storage 4 °C

anti-Nibrin (NBN) antibody Detection of Human NBS1 by Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Sample: Nuclear extract (50 mcg for WB, 1 mg for IP) from HeLa cells. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NBS1 (ABIN151745) used at 0.08 mcg/ml for WB and 1.25 mcg/mg lysate for IP. Detection: Chemiluminescence. (* band is believed to be a proteolytic fragment of NBS1).
