Background VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) is a homodimeric, disulfide-linkedglycoprotein involved in angiogenesis which promotes tumor progression andmetastasis. It exhibits potent mitogenic and permeability inducing properties specific forthe vascular endothelium. Of the four isoforms of VEGF, the smaller two, VEGF 165 andVEGF 121, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two(VEGF 189 and VEGF 206) remain cell associated. Alternate Names: anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor antibody, anti-Vascular Permeability Factorantibody, anti-VEGFA antibody, anti-VPF antibody.

Application Notes IHC: Diluted to a titer of 1:20-1:50 in an ABC method. However, depending on thestaining conditions employed, we suggest that the final dilution should be determined by the user. We suggest an incubation period of 30-60 minutes at room temperature. High temperature treatment of formalin-fixed tissue sections using 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0must be performed prior to the immunostaining.
