Additional Information

Alternative name Vimentin
Gene ID 7431, 22352, 81818
UniProt P08670
Immunogen The immunogen used to generate our antibody was recombinant human vimentinpurified from E. coli. [Swiss-prot# P08670].
Description Vimentin is the 10nm or intermediate filament protein subunit found in many kinds ofmesenchymal and epithelia cells, in many kinds of cells in tissue culture, and indeveloping neuronal and astrocytic precursor cells in the central nervous system.Vimentin frequently forms co-polymers with other intermediate filament proteins, such asGFAP (in astrocytes), with desmin (in muscle cells) and neurofilament proteins (indeveloping neurons). Antibodies to vimentin are useful in studies of stem cells and aregenerally used to reveal the filamentous cytoskeleton. Alternate Names: anti-FLJ36605 antibody, anti-VIM antibody.
Specificity Species Reactivity: Human, mouse, and rat. Theoretical Molecular Weight: 53.6 kDa.

Application Details

Application Notes Suggested working dilutions: immunofluorescence 1:5000,Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:150
