Additional Information

Alternative name DARPP32
Gene ID 84152, 19049, 360616
Immunogen Synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acids residues surrounding thephospho Thr75 of DARPP-32. The sequence of the immunogen is identical in humanand mouse.
Cross-Reactivity Human, Mouse (Murine)
Description DARPP-32, a dopamine (DA) and cAMP-regulated ~32k phosphoprotein, is associatedwith dopaminoceptive neurons bearing D-1 receptors in the basal ganglia. The proteininhibits protein phosphatase I when it is phosphorylated on Thr34. In contrast, whenDARPP-32 is phosphorylated on Thr75 the protein acts as an inhibitor of PKA. Phosphorylation of DARPP is thought to play a critical role in the regulation ofdopaminergic neurotransmission. In addition, the activity of DARPP-32 is also thoughtto play important roles in the actions of alcohol, caffeine and Prozac. Alternate Names: anti-DARPP 32 antibody, anti-DARPP32 antibody, anti-Dopamine- and cAMP-regulatedneuronal phosphoprotein antibody.
Specificity Specific for the ~34k DARPP-32 phosphorylated at Thr75. Phosphorylated:Thr75. Species Reactivity: Reacts with human, mouse, rat, bovine, canine, chicken, and primate. Localization: Cytoplasmic.
