Immunogen Synthetic peptide: MKGDSRHLNEEEGA-C, corresponding to amino acids 1-14 of Mouse Dnmt3b.
Specificity This detects DNA methyltransferase 3b (Dnmt3b) from human and mouse tissues and cells as well as recombinant human Dnmt3b. This detects, to a lesser extent, full-length human recombinant Dnmt3a.
Purification affinity purified
Alternative Name DNMT3B (DNMT3B Antibody Abstract)
Background DNA methyltransferases methylate the 5-position of cytosine in the context of CpGdinucleotides. DNA methylation is crucial for normal embryonic development, geneticimprinting, and X-chromosome inactivation. Hypermethylation of DNA has also beenimplicated in tumorigenesis through improper methylation of growth regulatory genepromoter regions. Alternate Names: anti-ICF antibody, anti-M.HsaIIIB antibodyCytosine 5methyltransferase 3B antibody,anti- DNA (cytosine 5) methyltransferase 3 beta antibody. anti- DNA antibody, anti- DNAmethyltransferase HsaIIIB antibody, anti- EC antibody, anti- ICF antibody, anti-M.HsaIIIB antibody.
Gene Symbol: DNMT3B
Gene ID 1789, 13436
Application Notes This antibody can be used in Western Blot. Chromatin Immunoprecipitation was reported in scientific literature. By Western Blot, a 130 kDa band is seen in P19 nuclear extracts. Recommended Starting Dilutions*: WB: 2.0 µg/ml. Not tested in other applications. *Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user.
Recommended dilutions: Chromatin Immunoprecipitation 1:10-1:500, Immunohistochemistry 1:100-1:1000 , Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin 1:100-1:1000 , Western Blot 2 µg/mL
Restrictions For Research Use only
Buffer PBS with 1 mg/ml BSA, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage -20 °C
Storage Comment -20 °C.
