Description

DNA methyltransferases methylate the 5-position of cytosine in the context of CpGdinucleotides. DNA methylation is crucial for normal embryonic development, geneticimprinting, and X-chromosome inactivation. Hypermethylation of DNA has also beenimplicated in tumorigenesis through improper methylation of growth regulatory genepromoter regions. Specificity

This antibody detects DNA methyltransferase 3b (Dnmt3b) from human and mousetissues and cells as well as recombinant human Dnmt3b. This antibody detects, to alesser extent, full-length human recombinant Dnmt3a. Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Human and Mouse. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Nuclear.
