Description
|
Apolipoprotein A5 (ApoA5) is fast gaining attention as a key regulator of serumtriglyceride concentrations. An ApoA5 mouse knock-out model produced anapproximately four fold increase in serum triglycerides, whereas a knock-in model withhuman ApoA5 produced 50-70% lower concentrations of mouse serum triglycerides. Inaddition, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-4 (PPAR-alpha) agonists, which areused clinically to lower serum triglyceride concentrations, cause increased ApoA5mRNA expression. Recently, it was demonstrated that ApoA5 ispresent in human serum detected by polyclonal antibodies against both the NH2 andCOOH termini, although at much lower concentration than other apolipoproteins. Alternate Names: anti-ApoA5 antibody, anti-Apolipoprotein A5 antibody, anti-Apo A-V antibody,anti-Apolipoprotein A-V antibody, anti-Apo-A5 antibody, anti-ApoA-V antibody,anti-Apolipoprotein A V antibody.
