Alternative Name PERP
Background The p53 tumor suppressor activates either cell cycle arrest or apoptosis in response tocellular stress. A novel gene, PERP, is expressed in a p53-dependent manner and athigh levels in apoptotic cells compared with G(1)-arrested cells. PERP induction islinked to p53-dependent apoptosis and is directly activated by p53. These data suggestthat PERP is a novel effector of p53-dependent apoptosis. Alternate Names: anti-PERP antibody, anti-PERP antibody, anti-TP53 apoptosis effectorantibody,anti-HGNC:17637 antibody, anti-KCP1 antibody, anti-KRTCAP1 antibody, anti-PIGPC1antibody, anti-THW antibody, anti-dJ496H19.1antibody, anti-1110017A08Rik antibody,anti-RP3-496H19.1 antibody, anti-keratinocytes associated protein 1antibody.
Gene Symbol: PERP
Gene ID 64065
Research Area Signaling, Extracellular Matrix, Apoptosis/Necrosis
Application Notes In Western blot, a band is seen around 23 kDa representing PERP.
Recommended dilutions: Western Blot 1:500 -1:1000
Restrictions For Research Use only
Concentration 1 mg/mL
Buffer PBS, Sodium Azide
Preservative Sodium azide
Precaution of Use WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze-thaw cycles
Storage 4 °C
Storage Comment 4 °C short term. Aliquot and store at -20 °C long term.
