Additional Information

Alternative name ERK1 / ERK2
Gene ID 5595, 26417, 50689
Immunogen Synthetic phospholyrated peptide (KLH coupled) corresponding to residues aroundThr202/Tyr204 of human p44 MAP kinase (Erk1 and Erk2).
Cross-Reactivity Human, Mouse (Murine), Rat (Rattus)
Format Serum
Description ERK (extracellular signal regulated kinase), also known as MAPK (mitogen activatedprotein kinase) has two closely related isoforms of 44 kDa and 42 kDa, respectively. These kinases belong to a family of serine/threonine kinases that are activated upontreatment of cells with a large variety of stimuli including mitogens, hormones, growthfactors, cytokines, and bioactive peptides. Cell stimulation induces the activation of asignaling cascade, the downstream effects of which have been linked to the regulationof cell growth and differentiation as well as the cytoskeleton. ERK1 and ERK2 arephosphorylated within the activation loop on both a Threonine and a Tyrosine residue(within a Thr-Glu-Tyr motif) by MEKs (MAPK/ERK kinases), thereby greatly elevatingthe activity of ERK1&2. Alternate Names: anti-ERT1 antibody, anti-Extracellular signal regulated kinase 1 antibody,anti-Extracellular signal regulated kinase 2 antibody, anti-MAP kinase 2 antibody,anti-MAPK 2 antibody, anti-MAPK 3 antibody, anti-Mitogen activated protein kinase 1antibody, anti-Mitogen activated protein kinase 3 antibody, anti-p42MAPK antibody,anti-p44ERK1 antibody, anti-p44MAPK antibody, anti-PRKM 1 antibody, anti-PRKM 2antibody, anti-PRKM 3 antibody, anti-Protein kinase mitogen activated 1 antibody,anti-Protein kinase mitogen activated 2 antibody, anti-Protein kinase mitogen activated 3antibody, anti-Protein tyrosine kinase ERK 2 antibody.
Specificity This antibody recognises ERK1 phosphorylated at Thr202 and ERK1 phosphorylated atTyr204.Phosphorylated:Thr202/Tyr204. Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Cell Membrane.
